22M – Have you ever experienced this in the Tokyo metropolitan area?

I don't know if you guys have experienced this or not while living in the Tokyo metropolitan area, but let me share something that happened to me.

I went to a supermarket and saw there was a last packet of spinach for 74 Yen. Since I was shopping at 10 PM, I thought it might be a discount, so I took it. (I don't understand Kanji and I can't speak Japanese).

So, I went to the cashier, and she billed it for a whopping 380 Yen for a bag of spinach. I bought it because I didn’t want to get embarrassed. After paying, I went back to check the 74 Yen tag and translated it via Google Translate. It turns out the tag said it was for Bean Sprouts.

So, the conclusion is that somehow the spinach bag ended up in the bean sprout price tag area, and I ended up paying 300 Yen extra.

Have you ever encountered such events?
