Working and studying in Japan temporarily

Im not sure if this is the right place for this but I hope someone can help.

So right now I’m 19 and taking a gap year, I’ll finish my last two years of school in Fall of ‘25. I’m not sure what I want to do with my gap year, but I’ve decided that the thing influencers do where they travel for a whole year is neither feasible not appealing.

So this is a long way of saying I’d like to see about moving to Japan for a year to study Japanese, but the only way I could make this work is by also having a job while there. Is it possible to just study and work for a year in Japan? I’m not really sure what kind of job would take me, especially because my Japanese is very limited, and I have no special qualifications.

I have also heard that finding housing could be a challenge as a foreigner.

Is this a realistic thing to do, or am I just a little crazy? Thanks in advance for the help!
