Merry Christmas guys,
I recently came across this no-kill cat rescue / shelter in Ginowan, which is currently housing over 300 cats from Okinawa.
I adopted a 6yo dude last week and have been volunteering weekly. I'm trying to raise awareness on this place to help get these cats adopted, or at least pet a little, or get more volunteers to help out and keep the place clean and happy.
Charubim is ran by a wonderful japanese woman (non-english speaking) in Ginowan, and several volunteers help on weekends to clean and take care of the cats. They do a great job, but are ultimately overwhelmed with the massive number of cats and limited amount of volunteers and funds.
Their facility has several separate rooms housing kittens, adult cats, elderly cats, non-social cats, sick cats, and FIV-positive cats.
I threw together a GoFundMe page to help get them additional funds. Funds from this program will help purchase food, medical supplies, litter, cleaning supplies, and possibly cover adoption fees to help these cats go to new homes.
If unable to donate, please consider adopting a cat or volunteering on the weekend! They accept volunteer work every Saturday and Sunday, between 1pm and 4pm! There is also an Amazon Wishlist, and an instagram page to promote different cats to get adopted, and their Google Maps location.
