Hey guys from talking to other JETs it seems like pretty much everyone has been contacted by their BOE/office. I haven’t been contacted yet and was wondering if anyone else hadn’t been contacted either? I’m wondering if I’m stressed for no reason or if I should contact my jet coordinator. Thanks!

Heading to Yamaguchi Ken and have had no contact yet. Arriving in August though. To be fair I just received my ticket Friday so going by faith.

Haven’t received a ticket, haven’t been contacted by CO, and haven’t heard from my pred yet….
For people in Japan, it’s the end of the first term. Expect to hear more when free time is available next week or the week after.
I’ve had initial contact (they asked for my name in katakana), but no specific information as of yet. Same as everyone else regarding a predecessor. I’m just in the waiting game right now. I think there was an email from my consulate to let them know if our CO’s hadn’t contacted us after a certain date. Have you checked with them?
I’ve seen my contact but they said we would do all the paperwork when I got there.
I’m a former JET but the year I left I wasn’t contacted until about two weeks before departure. Everyone around me was getting updates and I was freaking out lol. Turns out they had tried to contact me via snail mail to my old university address on the other side of the country. No idea why as I had clearly indicated on my application what address I would be at by what date and it was months after graduation by that point. If you have any recent address changes I’d check up on those, but it’s also possible they just haven’t reached out yet. I just had a Facebook memory pop up the other day of me finally finding out my placement. These things also tend to take longer if you’re prefectual.
I’m waiting to know who my successor is, CLAIR told my BOE a few weeks ago that they have a candidate coming to our island, but we still don’t know who it is yet. It’s frustrating because I do need to know how much of my furniture my successor wants and how much I need to sell, and I need to tell them what they need to prepare.
contact your consulate, they should contact CLAIR who will contact your CO and tell them to reach out (one of my friends is an incoming JET and she got contact after she did this, she’s also going to Nagasaki so i think Nagasaki is just slow? idk )
Im also leaving in August and haven’t heard from my BOE yet. I contacted my consulate and they said to give it until the end of the month and reach out again if I still haven’t heard anything 🙂

I haven’t heard either…nothing from my school, predecessor, accommodation etc! Honestly this thread gives me a bit of relief, because it seems like everyone on Discord is ahead with searching for accommodation etc!
For my town we are expecting a new ALT at the end of August and we have the persons contact details but we haven’t got the green light from JET to reach out to the person.
Has anyone on this thread been contacted as yet?
