Will be travelling at the end of July and as the days countdown, wanted to get some feedback and opinions on the following itinerary for our first visit to Japan.
Just some background, will be travelling as a family of 5 (kids age 11, 8, 6). Spouse love all things Japan, and is into shopping for clothes/cosemetics. Will prepare as much as we can to battle the heat (got neckfans, cooling towels, umbrellas).
Just a question before going into the itinerary, will be using luggage forwarding from hotel to the airport, which day should I drop off the luggage at the hotel front desk to be forwarded?

Day 1 – Arrive in Japan
- Flight lands at around 4:15pm
- Looking to arrive at the hotel in Toyocho around 8pm, grab some dinner and maybe explore around the hotel before going to bed
Day 2 – Harajuku/Shinjuku
- Explore the backstreets of Harajuku
- Malls and shopping (Tokyu Plaza, Laforet, Kiddyland, etc.)
- Lunch at Kura Sushi
- Explore Shinjuku (Hands, Lumine EST, Disney Store, Godzilla, Kabuchiko Toweretc.)
Day 3 – DisneySea
Day 4 – Tokyo Tower/Shibuya
- Visit Tokyo Tower and grab brunch
- Explore Shibuya (Magnet, Parco, 109, Shibuya Sky, Don Quijote, etc.)
Day 5 – Hakone
- Hakone Loop
Day 6 – Asakusa/Kawagoe
- Explore Asakusa (Culture Tourist Centre, Kaminarimon, Sensoji)
- Kawagoe Million Lights Festival
Day 7 – Tokyo to Kyoto
- Toyosu Senkyaku
- TeamLabs Planets
- Diver City
- Go to Tokyo Station and take the Shinkanzen to Kyoto
Day 8 – Osaka
- Osaka Castle
- Haruka300
- Dotonbori
Day 9 – Arashiyama
- Explore Arashiyama (Bamboo Forest, Saga Toriimoto, Adashino Nenbutsuji, etc.)
- AEON Kyoto
Day 10 – Uji/Fushimi Inari
- Explore Uji (Byodo-in Temple, surrounding streets, etc.)
- Fushimi Inari (in late afternoon)
Day 11 – Nara
- Nara Deer Park
- Last minute shopping in Kyoto
Day 12 – Leave Japan
- Travel to Kansai Airport
