Six day Itinerary Feedback – Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara

Hello!

My family and I (66M, 55F, 28F, 25F, 19F) plan to visit Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara this coming June. I would like to ask for your opinion on whether the itinerary we have planned is okay.

Day 1 (Osaka)

  • We arrive at KIX at 12nn. We will head to our hotel located in Shinsaibashi after picking up our pocket WiFi. We will also buy the Kansai One Pass, which I read is an IC pass that we can also use in Kyoto and Nara (Please confirm.) We will check in our luggages to our hotel and rest for a while.
  • We plan to go around Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi Shopping Street, and Amerikamura.
  • Dinner plan: Gyukatsu Motomura (which I enjoyed a lot when I went to Tokyo last year)
  • As our home country only has a one hour time difference from Japan, we will not be suffering from jetlag.

Day 2 (Osaka)

  • We plan to get the Osaka Amazing One-Day Pass to get free entrance to various sightseeing locations, and a pass to the metro and bus.
  • During the morning, we plan to go to Osaka Castle, Osaka Castle Museum, and Osaka Museum of History.
  • After lunch, we plan to go Tenmangu Shrine. And then, we plan to visit Umeda Sky Building and Hep Five Ferris Wheel. We also plan to go around Umeda District to do some shopping.
  • After dinner, we plan to go back to Dotonbori to take the Wonder Cruise since it's also included in the Amazing Pass.

Day 3 (Kyoto)

  • We plan to get the Hankyu Tourist Pass for our trip to Kyoto.
  • During the morning, we plan to go to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Tenryuji Temple, and Kinkakuji Temple.
  • For lunch, we plan to visit Nishiki Market.
  • During the afternoon, we plan to visit Heian Jingu Shrine, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Yasaka Shrine.
  • During the evening, we plan to have dinner somewhere in Gion. And then, we plan to go back to Osaka.

Day 4 (Nara)

  • We plan to get the Kintetsu One-Day Pass for our trip to Nara.
  • During the entire day, we plan to check out Kofukuji, Isuien Garden, Todaiji Temple, Nigatsu-do and Sangatsu-do, Nandaimon Gate, Nara Deer Park, Kasuga Taisha Park, Ukimido, and then, Higashimuki Shopping Street.
  • I believe they are located nearby to each other. We plan to just take it easy what we can do within the day in our pace. If we can't finish the itinerary, it's okay for us.

Day 5 (Osaka)

  • During the morning, we plan to have breakfast in Kuromon Market.
  • Afterwards, we plan to visit Sumiyoshi Taisha.
  • After lunch, we plan to visit Shitennoji, Tennoji Park, and Shinsekai. We also plan to visit the Mega Don Quixote in the area.
  • As my relatives will be visiting Japan for the first time, they wanted to try Ichiran.

Day 6 – Flight back to our home country

Questions:
Kindly advise:

1) if the itinerary I planned out is doable and not too tiring;

2) if it is doable for aging parents with weak knees;

3) if there are places that you can suggest as an alternative to some; and

4) if the passes I plan to get are cost-efficient;

On a side note, I initially planned to go to Himeji and Kobe for a day, while taking away one day from Osaka. But, since I figured that our parents have weak knees, I decided to make the itinerary more breathable as possible. Please be kind hehe

Thank you very much!
