  5. Resident tax is payable from roughly 1 million yen a year upwards so the eligibility criteria are set ridiculously low. The majority of the struggling middle class will get nothing.

  6. in reality this is probably over 75% of the population. I hope they don’t make this extremely difficult to receive.

  7. Only people who are exempt from paying residence tax are eligible. Guess I’ll just keep eating my cup ramen then…

  8. Last time they gave away money the fruad was massive and basically rich people stole all the money.

  9. Only people who are exempt from paying residence tax are eligible? So what small percentage ofthe country is eligible? This is crazy.
