My wife and I will be traveling to Okinawa for our honeymoon in early December for 5 days. We're planning on leaving the majority of our luggage/suitcases at the airport's baggage storage so we're only traveling with one bag.
We are planning on seeing some of the nature preserves and some of the touristy spots like the pineapple theme park and the aquarium. I'm wondering what transit looks like in Okinawa, I've seen that some of the hotels offer shuttle services from the airport. But I've also looked into rental cars as well, price wise it's also a viable option.
My only concern would be coming out from wherever we are with no way to request a taxi or something. And not being able to get back to our hotel at the end of a sightseeing day. I'm sure it's pre-travel jitters, I'm conversationally fluent in Japanese (modestly) so I'm sure I'll be able to ask people there, but just wanting to see what people's thoughts are on transit in Okinawa.
