HELLO, how are you all :)?
Digging head first, I lived in Japan for a year when I was in high school in 2017, loved it, come back 1 to 5 times a year since then to visit my friends and (host) family.
I've been searching for so many solutions to get to actually live in Japan, but can't find an effective one (except marrying a friend haha)..
I was thinking of going back with a whv next time, that at least buys me a year, but it is JUST ONE year, then what??
I have native-level english skills but can not apply for being an alt (because i can't prove i'm actually native or had 12 year of schooling in the language).
I have a bachelor degree from one of the top university in France, but it's a bachelor in f**king scandinavian studies (what was i thinking, right?)…
Other very convenient thing is that I speak Japanese, I'm not confident that I'm fluent enough to understand a full class at university, so another bachelor or a master can't be an option either.. International masters at Osakadai or Todai (for ex) could be an option, but they require "excellence", to what degree?? i'm not bad at studying, but I don't think I'm EXCELLENT either (?)
And that's kind of sad because i kind of want to go on with my studies, or start a new degree (especially in international relations, politics or even linguistics), but yeah 😔✌🏻
My only real skill is in restauration, and my real dream is to one day be able to open my own café… but yeah i don't believe that would even start to get me anywhere.. even starbucks don't offer visa sponsorship (which i kind of understand to be honest haha)
so if you have ideas,
i'm open to any advices
- i'm not rich (some people gave me stupid ideas before so i just wanna say 😂)
- i speak 6 languages (if that gets me anywhere i don't really know TT)
- other detail is, i live in Nara, I don't want to get tooooo far from Kansai if possible too 😭
tl;dr : studied in japan, loved it, wanna go back long term, can't seem to find solution. native-level english but i'm french so can't become alt. speak 6 languages including japanese, not fluent enough to follow university classes. have bachelor degree from top french university (in non-applicable studies). only real skill is restauration. not rich.
