I have questions about the money I've made from Youtube. I looked for other posts about this but still have questions.
1.) Apparently you have to report your earnings for tax purposes if it exceeds 200,000 yen (source). Currently, I've earned about 1,500,000. As an American citizen will I be taxed on this in Japan and USA?
2.) Some of the amount of money will be from brand collabs with other companies. Does this affect the method of filing taxes?
3.) Will my work place be able to find out that I've earned money on the side?
I didn't set out for my channel to be monetized but after getting monetized a few months ago, turns out I made a little cash on the side…
