Hi everyone, I'm moving to Japan for study abroad in September and am looking at some housing in Ikebukuro. The apartment I'm interested in is a 15 minute walk from the station, which isn't terrible, but I will probably end up getting a bicycle to use in the neighborhood and would also like to use it to get to the station every day.
I've lived in Kyoto and Hiroshima in the past, but as far as living in Tokyo with a bicycle, I have no experience. I looked up the bicycle parking around the station, and it looks like there are several places, which is good, but is there anyone who knows what the bicycle parking is like on the ground? Would it take the same amount of time to walk to the station as it would to bike and find a place to park? I would be approaching the station from the west side.
