I teach high school but have to make a promotional visit to a local JHS with a Japanese colleague.
JTE will give a presentation about our school in Japanese, then I have to give a demo lesson in English.
20-30 mins in length, 30-40 3rd year JHs students, no idea of their level or what resources are available. Should be a “Fun” lesson.
Has anyone done this and have any ideas for activities that would be suitable? Any help would be appreciated.

You should probably find out what textbooks the JHS uses so you what they’ve been studying most recently.
I’ve done that a few times. I’d just pick a simple grammar point (usually the past tense) and did a simple gambling game where they bet (fake) money on their answers translating Japanese sentence to English on a white board in teams. Take all the resources you need yourself because you can’t rely on them to lend you anything.
There’s a website, called ALTopedia or something.
Find out what their textbooks are, and what grammar points they have learned. Go to the website and pick from a range of activities for that grammar point/textbook. Children have more fun when they have confidence, so pick something easy.
Don’t do what I was subjected to. Going up and down each aisle, shaking hands and saying how do you do to each child. For several weeks on end.
