Hi there – wondering if anyone has experience planning/hiking this trip in late September. We are hoping to hike from Nakatsugawa to Narai over 4 days, spend two days in Matsumoto, and then train and hike the last section from Karuizawa to Yokokawa Station before bussing back to Tokyo. All in all – about 8 days.
We are flying to Japan Sept 14, and are flexible on whether we do this hike in late Sept or early/mid Oct. Yes, we know about typhoons and the humidity – we are seasoned/experienced hikers from Canada so we deal with extreme weather, but we don't want to put ourselves in an overly uncomfortable situation if it is better to wait for a few weeks! We are open to spending more time in the cities to wait out typhoon season in areas where there is more indoor activities if need be. Any help is appreciated!
