New grammar I found in my book. It seems to function the same but completely different grammar. Is there a difference to this? I'll put some examples.
ダンさんはトマトを食べないそうです。
I heard Dan won't eat tomatos.
ダンさんはトマトを食べないと聞きました。
I heard Dan won't eat tomatos.
去年から社長がアルコールを飲んでいないそうです。
I heard the boss hasn't drank alcohol since last year.
去年から社長がアルコールを飲んでいないと聞きました。
I heard the boss hasn't drank alcohol since last year.
