I'm currently planning a trip to Japan and I'm trying to find some places to get some cheap English manga or bilingual (English and Japanese) manga.
I've heard Book Off has cheap manga and I've seen some people say that some locations have limited English manga, but they still have something. But I've also seen some mixed reviews about that as other people seem to say that there's no English manga in book off. So which is it? Do they have English manga or not?
It's ok if it's a limited amount, I'm not looking to buy soooo much, but I still want to get something. Also, if they do have English manga, which book off locations would be the best to go to to be able to find the most English manga?

Anecdotally, all BOOKOFF that I went last year during my trip, which was around maybe 6 stores across Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka, I haven’t seen a single English manga, unfortunately. I wasn’t actively looking for them, so I can’t say that there is none, but it’ll be very unlikely to find there.
But if you want to try your luck (there is always a chance to find good stuff at second-hand stores), try going to the larger stores, like BOOKOFF Plus and BOOKOFF Super Bazaar.
The time and effort spent is not worth it.
Most of bookoff are 2nd-hand goods so they have a lot of manga(JP),game, etc
some has the section of old EN games but rarely the manga.
You’re better off just buying the manga in Japanese and using Google Translate to read. I went o one Book Off in Tokyo and while I wasn’t specifically looking, I didn’t see anything English.
I highly doubt you can find English manga in Book off, I’ve never personally seen them.Â
Foreign materials in bookstores are typically for language learning purposes.Â
Any English manga would have been imported from overseas so there would be a price premium on them. Most likely easier to find English manga cheaper in your home country assuming you’re from a English speaking one.
I have seen English-language manga at the Book Off outlets in Machida and in Gotanda multiple times. (I’ve seen them at other outlets, too, but not consistently.) As I don’t read manga in English or know what are highly rated ones, I have no idea if the selections are good or not, however.
