Getting from Kyoto to Kansai (KIX) airport

Can anyone tell me what these are? Made in Japan by Lipper and Mann Creations, probably 1950s. They are about 4 x 5 inches, woven grass or reed in wooden frames with cloth trim. Many Thanks!
