Insurance taxation?

I moved to Japan a while back and the insurance payout finally came through for the damage in transit to possessions.

My Japanese bank account is asking me to declare this as the source of funds is from abroad.

Do I need to pay tax on this?

I don't know where the insurer is based but clearly not in Japan. The transit company was Japanese if that matters.

I am a tax resident in Japan.
