I'm going on a working holiday in January. The organization I'm signed up with is offering 5 weeks of accommodations in either Kyoto or Tokyo. I'm not sure which to choose.
I've been to Tokyo already for two weeks back in 2019, so I'm kind of leaning Kyoto. But I imagine it's a bit more expat friendly in Tokyo. I also need to find work once I'm there, does Tokyo have more options for people like me, or is it about the same in Kyoto (potentially Osaka if I commute).
Are locals more friendly/laidback in one place or other? I know there's some frustration with tourists recently…
Any advice would be appreciated!
