Hey all,
I am in the early phase of determining feasibility of moving to Japan on Business Manager visa. While I plan to engage a lawyer to help me sort out the visa, I am having a hard time finding information about the tax I would be liable for. Maybe it's because I'm searching from out of the country or I'm not asking the right questions.
I have a business with about 16M in revenue annually. My business helps Japan economy and I have Japanese client, but I intend to operate as sole proprietorship (though I eventually might need to hire employees as the business grows).
What tax would I be liable for? From what I've read so far I understand I would be liable for corporate tax, but what about income tax for the salary I pay for myself?
Is this a question better asked for an accountant? If so, I would also welcome any recommendations of tax accountant who has experience in dealing with business manager visa.
Thanks!
