My friend and I are going to Japan from the 3rd to the 19th July 2025, and are looking for some advice on our plan. Currently we are thinking of doing 8 days in Tokyo, with a climb up Mt Fuji on days 5 and 6, then across to Kyoto/Osaka for 4 days and then back to Tokyo for the remaining 4 with a late flight on the 19th. We were planning to have the same hotel for the whole trip, with a short stay in something akin to a Machiya townhouse for our Kyoto/Osaka leg, before heading back to the hotel in Tokyo for a few days.
Our itinerary at the moment (which is tentative) includes:
- Kyoto- Nijo Castle, Fushimi Inaru Shrine
- Mt Fuji
- Osako- Den Den Town, Universal Studios, Osako Castles
- Tokyo- Meiji-jingū, Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo/Shibuya, Artnia (Square Enix Shop/Cafe), Cup Noodle Museum, Eorzea Cafe, Ghibli Museum, teamLab Borderless digital art museum, Tokyo Tower, Ueno Zoological Gardens, and various markets.
We were wondering what you all thought of the itinerary, whether it is missing anything, and if that is the best/comfortable way to approach the trip. Any and all help is welcomed and appreciated!
