Which location would you consider as having the most traditional architecture?

I’m really a fan of traditional architecture and I feel there’s been a growing interest globally to protect and renew traditional homes, while rediscovering some of their innate advantages relative to the environments they evolved in. When I eventually visit Okinawa, I’d really be interested in visiting a town where there’s still a lot of traditional architecture, particularly homes, such as Taketomi, or places where there is an active community of people involved in giving a new life to kominkas that may otherwise be lost over time. Any suggestions for such locations in Okinawa? Thanks
