Hello ~ I’ve been browsing a lot of itineraries online and the apassionandapassport itinerary sounds pretty good. This is my first time going to Japan! I have tweaked it to something I would be doing but it is quite similar. Please let me know if this actually sounds good for ten days (I'm well aware it seems rushed but I see she enjoyed her time there). I know my format is a little wonky too lol. Also, should I buy my yen now? I noticed the prices are increasing now. Another thing, has anyone done overnight buses? Lastly, I’d like to know anyone’s experience while traveling in December and as anyone below 20 with booking hotels- thanks!
Days 1-3: Tokyo (take train from Haneda airport – arriving at 4:50PM)
13th: Rest and then go out to eat dinner, maybe explore Akihabara/Shibuya
14th: Eat breakfast then explore Shibuya (Hachiko, Shibuya Crossing, Meiji Shrine), Harajuku (Takeshita Dori), and Shinjuku (maybe Omoide Yokocho + observation deck) lunch/dinner at one of these locations as well
15th: Eat breakfast then explore Asakusa and Sensoji Temple, Sumida Park, Ueno Park, Akihabara, lunch/dinner at one of these locations
16th: Eat breakfast then day trip to Hakone
December 13th-16th
Day 4: day trip from Tokyo → Hakone
Owakudani, Onsen of some sort, eat black egg
Hakone → Kyoto, we might go back to Tokyo to catch a night bus to Kyoto
December 16th
Days 5-6: Kyoto
17th: Arashiyama (Tenyru-Ji Shrine + Bamboo + Monkey Park), Golden Pavillion, lunch/dinner
18th: Breakfast, maybe get breakfast at Nishiki Market, Gion, Higashiyama (Sannenzaka and Ninesaka, Kyomizu-dera Temple), Philospher's Path
19th: Breakfast then Kyoto to Osaka
December 17th-19th
Day 7-8: Nara and Osaka
19th: Osaka (Osaka Castle, Dotonobori Street) lunch/dinner
20th: Nara, be with the deer! Todaji, Kasaguga Taisha Shrine, lunch somewhere
21st: Harvest Hill Osaka, explore more Osaka, take overnight bus to Hiroshima
December 19th-21st
Day 9: Miyajima and Hiroshima
22nd: Miyajima Island (tori gate, floating shrine) and explore Hiroshima (okonomimura) not sure what to do, probably explore musuems
December 22nd
Day 10: morning in Tokyo → airport
23rd: eat breakfast in Tokyo and eat lunch in airport
