Best home internet options in 2024 (specifically not-wired)

TLTR – time to choose a new home internet solution. Don't want to use wired anymore though.

Last year we got onto Osaka gas (sasuga-net). While waiting for installation, we were given a temporary wifi router from Manoma (Sony I think). Would you know it, the temporary service was far better than what we got during the rest of the months after. Line speeds drop so low during some evenings that you can even get "no internet" behind the connection.

So, we are out of the discount period and it's time to shop around for something new. Manoma is not available as a stand alone internet solution. I saw Softbank Air being advertised at EDION, but in doing the math on the campaign it is basically just early benefit for long-term fixed expense.

In the past I think we had J:COM, but they didnt cover our new location when we moved. When family visited we got them a pocket wifi and at the time it seemed feasible to just rent one indefinitely for home-use even.

Anyway, if anyone has updated experience / news / recommendations it would be very appreciated.
