CNC Machining in Japan as a career

Hello,

I’m currently at a rare opportunity in my life where I have options to move and start a new career. I was recently seeing videos about the lower cost of living in Japan compared to where I’m currently at.

I currently have a background as a CNC machinist/programmer almost a decade long specializing in 3D printed aluminum and titanium along with other alloys like inconel. I have Mastercam and Fusion 360 experience. Most of my experience is OTJ.

Regarding this, if I were to move to Japan, what would I be looking at for a career in machining? Will I need certifications and courses before I apply at a shop? What else would I need to know before I move?

I guess what I’m asking is what is the standard for machining in Japan. In the US you have union certifications along with multiple other ones plus Mastercam certifications tos how you know how to program. Like what would I be looking at in terms of requirements in getting a job, what experience would they necessarily be looking at? Do they use American or other foreign brand equipment or is all Okuma and Mazaks?

Thank you.
