Hi all!
in a few days I will be leaving on holiday for Japan, and this would be my itinerary.
The days in Tokyo are very flexible (except days 18 – 19), and I have just written down the neighborhoods to explore.
Day 1 – OSAKA
- Landing at 5 pm at KIX
- Pick up SIM card and ICOCA card
- Train to Namba
- Hotel check-in in Shinsaibashi
- Street food and drink in Dotonbori if we can
Day 2 – OSAKA
- Osaka Castle
- Shinsaibashi
- Dotonbori
- Namba Yasaka Jinja
- Food and drink in Shin Sekai
Day 3 – OSAKA -> KOYASAN
- Check-out and luggage forwarding to Nara
- Train/cable car/bus to Koysan
- Daimon gate
- Danjo garan
- Kongobu-ji
- Okunoin
- Sleep in a guesthouse
Day 4 – KOYASAN -> NARA
- Morning cerimony (haven't figured out where yet)
- Just wandering a bit if i missed something the day before
- Moving to Nara via Osaka
- Check-in at the Hotel and pick luggage
Day 5 – NARA
- Todai-ji complex
- Kasuga-taisha
- Kofuku-ji
- Todai-ji night visit
- Naramachi
Day 6 – NARA -> KYOTO
- Morning walk in the park
- Check-out and moving to Kyoto
- Lunch somewhere near our Hotel in Sanjo area (Nishiki Market?)
- Check-in
- Maybe Nijo castle in the afternoon (if we have time)
- Pontocho in the evening
- Back to our Hotel early
Day 7 – KYOTO
- Kyomizu-dera 6AM
- Sannenzaka
- Ninnenzaka
- Kodai-ji
- Chionin temple
- Furumonzen dori
- Shorenin temple
- Yasaka shrine
- Gion
Day 8 – KYOTO
- Arashiyama bamboo grove 6:30 AM
- Sagano bamboo grove
- Tenryu-ji
- Gio-ji
- Adashino Nenbutsuji
- Otagi Nenbutsuji
- Free time (maybe Kinkaku-ji if we have time)
Day 9 – KYOTO
- Fushimi Inari 6-6:30 AM
- Nanzen-ji
- Philosopher's Walk (Eikan-do – Otoyo-jinja – Honen-in – Ginkaku-ji)
- Kyoto station area eat and shopping
Day 10 – KYOTO
- Kurama and Kibune day trip
- Lunch in Kibune
- Back to Kyoto and free time rest of the day
Day 11 – KYOTO -> HIROSHIMA
- Kinkaku-ji
- Daitoku-ji
- Kitano shrine
- Check-out, luggage shipment to Tokyo and lunch somewhere near Kyoto station
- Shinkansen in late afternoon to Hiroshima
- Hotel check-in near Hiroshima station
Day 12 – MIYAJIMA
- Miyajima day trip
Day 13 – HIROSHIMA -> TOKYO
- Peace museum 7AM
- Peace memorial
- Hiroshima castle
- Shinkanesen to Tokyo in the afternoon
- Hotel check-in in Shinjuku
Day 14 – TOKTO
- Meiji jingu shrine
- Harajuku / Omotesando
- Shibuya
Day 15 – TOKYO
- Asakusa
- Akihabara (geek shopping)
Day 16 (Saturday) TOKYO
- Nakano Broadway (geek shopping)
- Shinjuku
Day 17 (Sunday) TOKYO
- Ueno + Yanaka
- Odaiba
Day 18 – TOKYO
- Teamlab borderless
- walk to zojo-ji
- lunch somewhere + free afternoon (maybe train and take a quick look around Ginza?)
- Train to Shibuya
- Shibuya Sky sunset
Day 19 – TOKYO
- Tokyo Disneyland
Day 20 – TOKYO -> HANEDA
- Free time
- 8 PM go to Haneda Airport
