For those who have done volunteer pro bone work in the region, what kind of things have you done and what have been your experiences? Anything to keep in mind, do’s and dont’s? Both for one time/day things as well as regular recurring ones – guess both are done in Japan as well? Or how does the system usually work?
What are good places to find volunteer opportunities?
I’d like to interact more with locals that way and practice language while doing so. Although my Japanese is still very basic. Don’t really care about the sector: nature and environment, kids and youth, agriculture and farmwork etc. Anything goes. Probably would like to avoid sales work as for collecting donations, I know many volunteering is in that area, to find money for non-profits.
