Rice shop?

I’ve read here before that specialty rice shops are great places to buy rice. what does one search on Google maps to find the closest one? if it helps I live in kagurazaka

  1. I just saw a poster in Kagurazaka post office today that you can sign up for rice delivery service. From what I remember it says they delivery rice from different regions every month. Didn’t see how much it would cost but need to sign up for at least 6 months. Thought it looked interesting as I was queuing to post stuff.

  2. TBH, my Japanese husband isn’t a fan of those shops. He buys his favorite brand from the supermarket.

  3. I have bought rice (and kerosene) from such shops as a matter of convenience/curiosity so I’ve never actively looked for them.

    But these shops tend to be really neighborhood mom and pop shops with no online presence so my guess is that you should look in your local phonebook, if you have one.

  4. If you want to find the closest rice shop to you, I would recommend searching for Asian grocery store or rice shop on Google Maps.

  5. I feel like google is going to be your best bet here. Just search in Japanese for a rice shop.
