How bad are the pesticide levels in fruits here?

Does anyone know the overall quality of supermarket fruit here? I noticed apples seem kinda funky. They taste off, and the core always has this green/white film in the center that I always cut out. Another friend of mine was saying that he heard Japan is notorious for using huge amounts of pesticides. Do you think fruit consumption here is generally safe? I wonder about other things too like how much microplastic the average bento buying person gets into their body every day. Especially seeing people microwaving their food while it's still inside the plastic container
