I am a freelancer in Japan and came across this on threads. It says there that I can register 社会保険 under their association for just 40,000 yen a month and it sounds like a good deal? I am currently paying for 国民健康保険 and 国民年金 and its getting very expensive.
The coverage for 社会保険 and 国民健康保険 is the same right? I am asking because i am concerned if i switch, there wont be a coverage for my dependents.
their site.
Update: I had a call with them(Japan Global Freelance) and from what i understand, joining their association means that i am 'employed' by them and they are able to register me in the company's 社会保険. Their procedure also seems fairly simple. Once you sign-up with them, the insurance card will come in approximately 3 weeks.
This arrangement is actually perfect for me!
If anyone is interested, will suggest that you go through the google forms on threads, their site does not seem very friendly.
Thanks all.
