I am building a new home and want to use smart switches for lights, shutters, etc.. I'd like to use switches that support MQQT so that I can use my own Home Assistant server, without being dependent on company specific ecosystems like Panosonic or similar companies.
There doesn't seem to be a ton of choices in the first place for smart switches in Japan. I was recommended Shelly, but they do not sell their product directly in Japan. Shelly's response to me asking if their product would work here was this:
Our devices can be used with 100 VAC as they have a 10% impedance. Our devices can be used with 110-240 VAC (10% impedance).
I plan to ask the construction company if they would still use them based on the response from Shelly, but I'd still prefer to get a good product that is sold and supported in Japan if I could.
So I am wondering if anyone has found any other smart switch products that are sold directly in Japan or can offer any other advice.
I'm also considering just having the electrician run the required neutral wire to each outlet and waiting to install something in the future if I can't find something soon.
