Getting divorced, property acquired by one partner during marriage

We are foreign nationals who married in Japan a few years ago, didn’t work out and we are splitting. No kids and very amicable.

Last year, I bought a house in my name with a mortgage. My partner was supportive, didn’t take part in the process (except to come see the place once). I’ve moved in and partner has never lived in it.

Now we need to get officially divorced on paper and only just realized that property acquired while married is considered jointly owned. (We are young and dumb!)

Partner acknowledges house is 100% mine, but legally we want to make it secure that I have 100% ownership of the house after we file for divorce.

Is this something that requires a lawyer? Or can we handle it through the usual paperwork? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
