Microwave / Microwave Oven?

Hello! Apologies for what may seem like a stupid question but after days of trying to wrap my head around the different microwave (ovens) here in Japan I thought I'd try my luck here. I've just moved to Tokyo and am in the middle of trying to furnish my apartment before my new job starts. I've been having some trouble with trying to figure out the different functions in the microwaves here as where I'm from all kitchens would have a large oven as well as a turntable microwave. I'm living on my own here and back home used the microwave frequently just to reheat food and mostly to steam vegetables. Where I'm from the microwaves all had a turntable and worked at around 900/1000 Watts. I thought that I would probably only need one of the smaller turntable microwaves here in Japan rather than one of the larger microwave ovens with their different functions as I have three hobs on the stove in my apartment as well as a second hand rice cooker and the little grill that's fitted into the stove. However, when looking at the turntable style microwaves in various electronics stores I noticed that they all seem to work at around 500 Watts which seems extremely low, and even some of the larger microwaves were only 650 Watts. I literally will probably mostly use the microwave for steaming vegetables and the like so can anyone tell me if this can be done in the larger microwave ovens (the ones that have a flat bottom without the turntable and come with a little tray that sits towards the top of the oven)?? I have been looking for an answer online for days and have found nothing to answer my question. I'm wary of buying something smaller and potentially underpowered if one of the larger microwave ovens is capable of doing the same thing but on higher power.

Again apologies if this seems like a stupid question – I've only just moved and am still trying to wrap my head around the differences between the electronics here and back home!
