Medical care for epilepsy in Japan

I have epilepsy that doesn’t really affect my day to day life, but take lamotrigine to control it. Where I live now I have annual checkups with a neurologist who occasionally orders tests for me, such as blood tests or EEGs. One thing which worries me about moving to Japan is how this might be treated. Since this is quite a specific question I haven’t been able to find anything too useful through searching.

Is there anyone with experience of moving to Japan with epilepsy? How easy or quick is it to get a prescription for AEDs, particularly lamotrigine? Are things like regular checkups or tests standard? If you have a specialist, which language do you communicate with?

Thanks a lot in advance.
