Second time in Tokyo – thoughts on my neighbourhood-exploration focused itinerary?

I visited Tokyo for 7 days back in late 2022 and it immediately became probably my all-time favourite city that I've visited. Back then, I did most of the popular touristy stuff – Shibuya Scramble, Golden Gai, Omoide Yokocho, Shibuya Sky, Tsukiji Market, Ginza, teamLabs Planets, Akihabara etc.

I'm going back for a second visit as part of a larger East Asia trip in January 2025, for 5 days this time, and I'm looking for feedback on my itinerary and recommendations. The last visit was crazy and hectic – I think I hit 25k steps minimum pretty much every day. This time around though, although I'll still be walking a lot, I'm looking to take it at a bit more relaxed pace. Instead of just jumping from one attraction to another, what I want to do is just experience the vibe of the different neighborhoods. Just visit one each day, wander, get lost, and see where the road takes me.

This is what I have so far:

Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo in the afternoon – will be staying in Shinjuku. Since I'll be tired from the long flight (coming from North America), I'll probably just walk around, reorient myself, grab dinner and some conbini snacks, and call it a night

Day 2:
– Check out Shinjuku Gyoen park in the morning since I didn't get a chance to do it last time.
– Asakusa/Senso-ji – didn't visit it last time
– Ikebukuro

Day 3: day trip to Kawaguchiko. Not sure what I'll do in the evening – maybe Koenji

Day 4:
– Kichijoji – Inokashira Park, Ghibli Museum, Harmonica Yokocho
– Shimokitazawa

Day 5:
– Nakameguro
– teamLabs Borderless (maybe)
– Daikanyama

Thoughts? Any suggestions for changes/additions?
