Hokkaido Winter Festival Itinerary Advice

Hello.

I am planning my first solo trip from the end of January 2025 to mid February for winter festivals. Would really love your input on my itinerary. Since I do not know how to drive, I will require public transportation for this trip. My hobby is to travel for food with no dietary restrictions so I am really excited to eat all the milk products, seafood, and local cuisines! I have not booked my flight but all the flights I am seeing are to arrive at New Chitose Airport around 6pm. I assume that there is still public transportation (JR or bus) to Sapporo. But will there be public transportation to go to Jozankei or Noboribetsu from the airport at that time?

Feb 1st – jozankei shrine for last day of snow candle way – stay over night there too for some onsen/ bath and foot bath

Feb 2nd – no idea what to do in between Jozankei or I just skip Jozankei and arrive on New Chitose Airport on Feb 2nd or 3rd and save it for the future?

Feb 3rd – Noboribetsu Dai-ichi Takimotokan – onsen/bath

Feb 4th – visit lake toya (45 mins jr limited express train and Jigokudani valley during the dayNoboribetsu festival at 8 pm

Feb 5 –8th – Sapporo as base – worry if I am too ambitious here

• Sapporo: snow festival (3 different locations), Sapporo beer museum, Hokkaido Jingu, Nijo market, Beer Museum, historical village. 
• Otaru : light festival, glass museum, and music box
• Lake Shikotsu
• Debating if I should make it to Nikka distillery tour – They don't offer English tour but has English audio guide 

Here is my dilemma- should I go to Asahikawa or Hakodate? I would go to both but it seems that there is no direct flight from Asahikwa to Hakodate or the train is like 7 hr ?

Feb 8-9 – Asahikawa as base or should I just go to Hakodate from Sapporo

• Asahikawa festival – I am unable to find the start date for 2025 
• Asahiyama zoo + Penguin walk
• Want to visit Shirahige waterfall but worry it would be too ambitious
• back to Sapporo then home

Feb 8-10 (or Feb 9-11 if i do go to Asahikawa as well) – Hakodate then flight back home

• Mt. Hakodate
• Goryokaku
• Monkey onsen
• red brick warehouse
• morning market
• onuma snow/ice festival (can't find the date for 2025 yet)
