I’m totally clueless about this stuff and google is just making me more confused so I thought I’d ask where people actually know what they’re talking about!
Are there any tax changes to changing from spouse visa to PR? Quick backstory: I’m on a 3 year spouse visa (after a couple of 1 year ones) and considered a housewife with under 1 million yen annual income. I’ve never filed taxes here. I think my Japanese husband gets some kind of tax break for that? He owns his own business and works for himself.
If I apply for, and get PR will that change any tax stuff, pension stuff or health insurance stuff? Or anything else I’m not even thinking of?
Basically, are there any downsides to going from spouse to PR?
