Splurging on hotel – need recs!

So my wife and I are coming to Tokyo for about 7 days at the end of September. We want to splurge a little but on the hotel and are considering Aman Tokyo, Ritz Carlton, Shangri-la, and the Four Seasons. Are there any others we should consider? We'd like to stay somewhere that has easy access to transportation, shopping, restaurants, etc. Any tips are appreciated!!

  1. People really love Hoshinoya, if you’re looking for a more traditional Japanese experience. I haven’t been, but it’s one of my goals hotels that I’d like to stay at, at least partially because their restautant is only open to hotel guests for dinner and looks amazing.

  2. Park Hyatt Kyoto is the number one Park Hyatt in the world. The place looks like a combination of a meticulously maintained bonsai tree and rock garden. Inside the hotel is a strolling garden or kaiyushiki-en. It is also attached to a legendary teahouse called Kyotamato, which has one Michelin Star.

  3. Since you visit all the way to Japan, why not stay at a Japanese hotel? We recommend either [the Gajoen](https://en.hotelgajoen-tokyo.com/) or the [Heritage Wing wing of the Hotel Okura](https://theokuratokyo.jp/en/), both of which feature Japanese-style interiors. They are conveniently located near public transportation and restaurants. Another recommendation is [The Prince Park Tower](https://www.princehotels.com/parktower/), which has [a bar](https://www.princehotels.com/parktower/restaurants/sky-lounge-stellar-garden/) with a nice night view and is adjacent to Shiba Park, creating a beautiful setting. Just to the west is [the Azabu area](https://www.cotoclub.com/10-michelin-starred-restaurants-in-azabu-and-roppongi/), known for its many Michelin-starred restaurants.

  4. Just got back from Japan and stayed at the Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills, which is gorgeous and has easy access to the Hibiya and Ginza subway lines. Relatively close to Ginza, Roppongi, and Shinbashi. In the ballpark of a Four Seasons / Ritz Carlton, but actually bookable on Hyatt points (can transfer from Chase).
