Can I come to Japan after being accepted to Uni before classes start?

Hello! I am planning on attending University of Tsukuba for my masters in medical sciences. I’ll be on student visa of course and my question is:
Since the term starts in April, when I get accepted in February, am I allowed to move there mid or end of march to settle in before courses start?
Like what is the process of getting your gaijin card, or do you receive it after you settle in?
Or is everything gonna be sorted at the airport?
I did a lot of research but I am just so confused on this so if anyone could offer some input please, thank you!
