Hi all! I’ve (24m) been a chef for the past 6 years and have been mainly in Japanese cuisines and currently run my own sushi omakase catering business. I was hoping to move to Japan to learn and study more in restaurants, but I have no clue if they would even consider taking me on to work at a restaurant. I’m an Australian citizen so I’m granted a two year working holiday visa. I was hoping if there was anyone who worked in Japan as a chef, could share their experience with me and how I could get my foot in the door. Thank you!!
