First one is “My major is also Japanese” in response to someone telling you that their major is Japanese. Then the 2nd is “My (additional) major is Japanese,” meaning Japanese is their other major? Do I have that right

The first one is correct.
ふくせんこう is a double major.
せんこうは ビジネスです。ふくせんこうは にほんごです。
