Literature, film, music recommendations for Okinawa first-timer

I’ll be spending a week on Okinawa in mid-November. I’d love to absorb as much culture beforehand to appreciate the trip that much more. So if you, dear Okinawa Redditers, have any recommendations of books, audio books, films, music, etc., I’d love to hear them!

P.S. I am trying to get basic Japanese down before going to help with communication, so that’s already in the works.
