For my trip in Japan next month, I booked a Hakone ryokan for one night where I will be travelling to from Kyoto by shinkansen.
Google maps gives me different trasport options to said ryokan either from Odawara station or from Mishima station, depending on the day I guess (the ryokan is kind of half way between the two).
My question is, can I buy a shinkansen ticket to Odawara and still stop at Mishima if I decide to last minute? Is there a ticket check or a kind of punch out when you get off the train? I know japanese ticketing systems are kind of specific, is there a possibility I could have problems with the staff for not going all the way to the destination I paid for?
