Hey everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Japan from February to June 2025, and I’m looking for some tips or advice from those who’ve spent an extended period there or are familiar with the country.
A bit about my trip:
- I’ll be spending most of my time in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, but I’m also planning to visit smaller towns and do some countryside exploration.
- I’m interested in cultural experiences, nature, local festivals, and of course, trying all the amazing food.
- I’m budgeting for a modest to mid-range stay, and I’d love to hear any advice on how to keep costs down while still making the most of my time.
I’d love to hear about:
- Must-see places and hidden gems: What are the spots that might not be on the usual tourist radar but are worth checking out?
- Seasonal events: Any local festivals, cherry blossom spots, or other seasonal events happening during this time?
- Accommodation tips: Recommendations for affordable yet comfortable places to stay for longer periods? (I’m open to staying in different types of places—guesthouses, Airbnb, etc.)
- Transportation: Any tips on getting around efficiently, especially if I’m planning to explore different regions?
- Cultural Do’s and Don’ts: I want to be respectful and mindful of the local customs, so any advice on this would be much appreciated.
- Food recommendations: Any must-try dishes or restaurants? Also, any tips on eating well on a budget?
- Anything else: If there’s something you wish you had known before spending time in Japan, I’m all ears!
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice you can share! I’m really excited about this trip and want to make the most of it.
