Looking for any advice or experiences on recycling glass bottles with metal caps, specifically the ring around the opening of the bottle that the cap was originally attached to.
I've removed the cap, but without some tools I I don't think there's a way to get the ring off – so do I need to go get some tools or are they ok to recycle with the metal ring attached?
I know it's different per area, I've checked the garbage instructions for my area (as well as a number of others, and I can't find clear instructions. I've rinsed them out, tried to remove most of the labels (some don't come off easy, even when I fill them with boiling water to soften the glue), removed the metal cap, but worried about that tiny metal ring.
