Hello all i will be traveling from september 25 to november 13 in japan. And I am super open ended about where to go. I am very late at planning this trip. I would like to have a nature oriented trip, but it's also my first time in japan. I don't want to rush from one place to the next.
I was thinking of either going north to center (either stopping in tokyo or going all the way to sapporo).
Or starting from tokyo and surrounding area to the south. I'd like to get suggestions from y'all, I really want to stay in forested area for part of the trip and visit some honsen although I am on a budget so I suppose I won't be able to stay too much in such places.
I know of the north to south foliage change, which seemed interesting at the same time it seemed some very interesting spots are south. So not sure, of course I can't see all of japan at once lol but would like to figure out what makes the most sense as a person who is traveling solo and is planning last min
