Hello! Is there any online source that provides parallel translations to contemporary stories? I’ve read several parallel text collections but most stories are quite dated. I’m looking for modern (and/or popular) novel translations online if possible…thanks!

Satori Reader might be a good fit, depending on your level.
If you are open to physical books, I really enjoyed “Read Real Japanese Fiction: Short Stories by Contemporary Writers” and “Reading Japanese with a Smile: Nine Stories from a Japanese Weekly Magazine for Intermediate Learners”.
You could also just pull up light/web novels that have been translated in one window and the original in the other and just go back and forth, reading for general understanding (rather than taking the translation as direct word-for-word).
