Japanese Mortgage Approval?

I know there are a lot of mortgage questions and answers on here, but I wanted to apply my specifics to see what my chances of getting a mortgage are. PR holder, HSP. Japanese wife (met after PR status – so no bearing on residence status). Been here for 7 years. Clean records for taxes, pension, credit etc. 2 credit cards Rakuten JCB and Persona Visa. I bank at Shinsei Bank and have for over 6 years. No debt – credit cards are paid in full monthly. Salary is 25m JPY. Could put various amounts down probably up to 25% (funded from US investment). The part that worries is I am 56, turning 57 at the end of the year. Wife is stay at home, so no income from her. I'm also an officer at a Japanese company and will not be forced into retirement at 60. Would I be offered a mortgage or would my age be a problem? Thank you in advance!
