Itinerary check – two weeks trip in august

We are planning a trip to Japan and would like some advice on our 14 night itinerary. We are travelling to Tokyo and departing from Osaka. Our main destinations are Tokyo (5 nights), Kyoto (3 nights) and Osaka (2 nights).

Day 1, August 13th

1pm Arrival at Tokyo Narita, JPR, Suica, Wifi

Check-in at the Hotel in Shinjuku

Walk around Shibuya with the Tokyo Toilet Project as a guiding map

Akihabara

Day 2, 14 August

Tour with a local guide who will take us to these places

Tokyo Skytree, Asakusa, Sumida Park, Senso-ji Temple, Nezu Shrine, Meiji Jingu, Yoyoji Park, Harajuki

At 5pm we finish our visit with the guide and visit

Shibuya crossing

Pokemon center

Itoya

And perhaps have dinner at Omoide Yokocho

Day 3, 15 August // Day 4, 16 August

We will choose the day with the best weather to go to Hakone and see Mount Fuji. If the weather is too foggy, we will have a "free day", maybe visit the Takagi Shrine, some art supply stores, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and some arcades. 

In the evening we will go to the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and then to Ueno Park.

On the other day we will go to Kamakura. hen we get back we will try to see a performance of a Kabuki show.

Day 5, August 17th 

Toyosu, fish market

TeamLab Planets (at 11AM)

Tokyo Imperial Palace

Akihabara

Golden Gai & Kabukicho

Day 6, 18 August 

Ghibli Museum at 10am

Kichijoji Petit Mura & Inokashira Park

Perhaps Jindaiji Temple

Leave for Nagoya in the late afternoon, check-in at the hotel

Visit Tsutaya Books 

Perhaps walk around Sakae

Day 7, 19 August

Travel from Nagoya to Magome to walk the Nakasendo to Tsumago & Nagiso

Check-in at the hotel before 6PM & dinner between 6pm and 7pm

Night in a ryokan in Tsumago

Day 8, 20 August

Travel from Tsumago to Kyoto

Pick up luggage sent from Tokyo, get information for sending it to Osaka and check in at hotel

Guided tour of the Imperial Palace at 2pm

Kodai-ji

Yasaka Pagoda

Hanamikoji Street

Day 9, 21 August

Tour with a local guide who will take us to these places:

Fushimi Inari

Sanju Sangendo

Nijo Castle

Kinkakuji Temple

The visit will end at 3pm, we were considering visiting the Manga Museum.

We would like to book an experience in Gion, such as a tea ceremony or geisha/maiko show. 

Day 10, 22 August

Nishiki market early morning

Arashiyama

Togetsukyo Bridge

Tenryu-ji

Dinner at a restaurant in the evening?

Day 11, 23 August

Leave Kyoto early in the morning, leave luggage with Yamato Transfer or other services

Himeji Castle (guided tour at 10am)

Depart for Hiroshima at 12pm

Hiroshima Peace Museum

Boat to Miyajima, check in at the hotel

Ropeway and sunset from Mount Misen or at the beach

Day 12, 24 August

Itsukushima

Daishoin

Travel to Koya-san to arrive at 4.30pm, dinner before 7pm

Walk around Koya-san

Day 13, 25 August

Morning prayers at Koya-san

Travel to Osaka and check-in at the hotel

Osaka Castle area

Nipponbashi Denden Town

Dinner in Takimi Koji

Day 14, 26 August

Nara

Namba & Dotonbori

Day 15, 27 August

Kuromon Market

Maybe something else
