Hi everyone,
I am planning a 2 week trip to Japan in March, 2026 (I know a long time from now 😩)
with my gf. Giving how long the trip is we really want to prepare financially and maximize the most out of our trip.
I created a list of cities that I would like to visit but I did some research and based off location and what each city had to offer I had crossed them the list. Here it is:
Top to bottom (northern to southern cities)
- Sapporo X
- Niigata X
- Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku (close to each other)
- Kamakura X
- Mount Fuji
- Kyoto
- Nara
- Osaka
Given the list, are the cities that don't have an "X" is it possible to see all of those cities thoroughly. We really want to see as much as we can on this trip and really minimize the time going from place to place. We want to see modern and old Japan (temples, villages, etc) if that makes sense. The cities that have "X" 's on them, am I making a mistake taking these off my list? Should I add any cities? For Mt. Fuji we would have to stay a night or 2 there given how far it is from Tokyo?
Also, is it recommended to land in Haneda airport?
