The AC in our living room started to leak a few days ago and now stops shortly after starting it.
It's for 26畳, so replacing it would be at least 250,000 yens as my wife wants some fancy features.
I wonder if it would be interesting to try to repair it considering it is already 9 years old. Any idea what could be the repair cost?

Repairman from OEM had a 10 days waiting list. Installation of a new from a Rakuten shop had an even longer wait so I had the local Panasonic denkiya-san have a look at the AC.
According to him it was lacking gas. He came back a couple of days later with some refrigerant gas and refilled the outside unit.
It works now. Less than 20,000yens for the repair. Hopefully it will last a few years 🙂
